V1 of the Apparel Index Ready For Testing!

After almost two years of collaboration V1 of the Apparel Index is ready for testing and publicly available at www.apparelcoalition.org.  The Index is an industry-wide tool for measuring the environmental and social performance of apparel products and the supply chains that produce them.  The Sustainable Apparel Coalition welcomes comments and feedback on the tool to continue to improve it.

Collaborating for a More Sustainable Apparel Supply Chain

Since April 2010, Blu Skye has played a key role convening a group of 28 sustainability leaders in the apparel and footwear industry including Nike, H&M, Gap, Levi's, Walmart, Target and Patagonia, together with leading NGOs and the U.S. EPA, to form the Sustainable Apparel Coalition. The goal of the Coalition is to develop an industry-wide index to measure the environmental and social performance of apparel products, and to identify opportunities for pre-competitive collaboration in the apparel supply chain to improve sustainability performance and drive innovation.
