Upcoming Event: Corporations and the Food Movement (10/4/11)

On October 4th at 6pm, Blu Skye's Jib Ellison will join author Michael Pollan and Jack Sinclair, EVP of Grocery at Walmart for a discussion on the role of corporations in the sustainable food movement.  This class is part of the UC Berkeley course Edible Education 101: The Rise and Future of the Food Movement, which in addition to the 400 UC Berkeley students who are enrolled in the course is open to about 300 general public free of charge.

U.S. Dairy Sustainability Commitment Progress Report

Today the Innovation Center for US Dairy released its Sustainability Commitment Progress report, a summary of the industry-wide efforts currently underway to increase the economic, environmental and social sustainability of the dairy industry. Since the launch of the Sustainability Commitment in 2007, the industry has worked together to establish voluntary goals, launch an environmental research agenda and spur innovation across the value chain. The U.S. Dairy Sustainability Commitment Progress Report summarizes these efforts from the commitment launch in 2007 through August 31, 2010.
