The Dairy Research Institute™, an affiliate of the Innovation Center, recently was awarded a $1.1 million grant to support greenhouse gas reduction efforts through the development of a Dairy Farm Stewardship Toolkit. The toolkit will allow dairy producers to evaluate their production techniques and identify potential improvements in management practices.
Collaborating for a More Sustainable Apparel Supply Chain
Since April 2010, Blu Skye has played a key role convening a group of 28 sustainability leaders in the apparel and footwear industry including Nike, H&M, Gap, Levi's, Walmart, Target and Patagonia, together with leading NGOs and the U.S. EPA, to form the Sustainable Apparel Coalition. The goal of the Coalition is to develop an industry-wide index to measure the environmental and social performance of apparel products, and to identify opportunities for pre-competitive collaboration in the apparel supply chain to improve sustainability performance and drive innovation.
