Incorporating Sustainability into Corporate Strategy
Situation
At the time of engagement, the company had already recognized that sustainability was a critical issue for the organization, and wanted to accelerate its progress in thinking about unlocking the organization at scale. Hundreds of initiatives were already underway, ranging from local composting efforts to green IT strategies and customer education events, but they needed a unified vision to help guide people throughout the company to make and prioritize investments.
Insight
Blu Skye helped the company both gather the data required for meaningful insight and helped push the leaderships' thinking forward. We provided valuable support in augmenting, refining and arraying the data and enabled the client’s core sustainability team to identify the most strategic opportunity areas. This analysis provided the needed foundation for setting targets that unified the focus across the company. Additionally, the client expressed that our skill and experience in shaping effective executive dialogues was an important element in ensuring leadership approval and support for the strategy.
Result
By the end of the engagement, the sustainability strategy had been successfully launched and carried senior-level support. Guided by the overarching strategy, the organization is mobilizing to capture the business opportunities offered by sustainability, and is able to effectively prioritize and coordinate initiatives, product strategies and research and development.
