Amy Horton, Senior Consultant

Amy Horton brings 9 years in project management, research and analysis and strategy development experience. At Blu Skye, Amy manages complex multi-stakeholder projects that help business leaders address systemic environmental and social challenges that no single company alone can solve. She has supported industry-wide collaboration efforts focused on measuring and reducing impact in the life cycle of consumer products for leading companies in the dairy, apparel and retail sectors. She currently manages the Blu Skye team working with the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, a group of leading global apparel and footwear brands, retailers, manufacturers, non-governmental organizations and academic experts to develop an index to measure and reduce the environmental and social impacts of apparel and footwear products around the world.

Prior to joining Blu Skye, Amy worked in the Bangkok-based offices of UNESCO and USAID, leading regional efforts to build the capacity of reproductive health and HIV/AIDS projects through best practice research sharing, knowledge exchange and streamlined reporting.

She began her career in social change as a project manager for a boutique political consulting and campaign strategy firm in Washington, D.C. Her clients included NGOs focused on a range of environmental and social issues including women’s health, wilderness protection and energy efficiency, as well as national, state and local electoral campaigns.

Amy earned her degree in Journalism and Communication from the University of Oregon. In her spare time, she enjoys experimenting with home coffee roasting, practicing the fiddle and camping in the California redwoods.
